Augsburg Fortress

This set of choral anthems, based primarily on passion hymns, reflects upon the scriptural texts of The Passion according to St. John. Although conceived and commissioned for Good Friday service in which the gospel is traditionally read, the music may be used in a variety of settings. Ferguson's insightful writing provides a choral commentary, which perfectly mirrors the events of the passion story, creating a profoundly moving experience. The congregation is included as an optional participant in a number of the settings. Settings include: 'Drop, Drop Slow Tears,' 'When I Survey The Wondrous Cross,' and 'Beautiful Savior.'
