The songs of Bret Hesla reflect the important themes of the life and teaching of Jesus: justice for all people, inclusive community, peacemaking, healing. The tunes are mostly original, with a few well-known hymn tunes as well. Most can work in variety of different styles, tempos and instrumentation. Rather than performance, these songs were written for community singing, both in worship and in other settings.
