Rejoice, Rejoice, Believers: Hymn Orchestration
John Ferguson’s majestically orchestrated hymn accompaniment for the Advent hymn “Rejoice, Rejoice, Believers,” as heard frequently at the St. Olaf Christmas Festival. The choir sings the first stanza as an introduction, and then the entire assembly is invited to sing the hymn together, finishing with a choral amen.
Instrumentation: piccolo, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, bass clarinet, 2 bassoons, contrabassoon, 4 horns, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, percussion, celesta, strings.
An anthem version arranged for SAB choir and organ is also available.
