The beloved Irish tune SLANE is paired with a profound text by Ruth Duck in this Lenten hymn found in All Creation Sings, arranged by Robert Benson for SATB choir. Often sung on the first Sunday in Lent in conjunction of the reading of Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness, the text invites us to reflect on our own journeys and temptations during Lent. The choral writing allows the tune to be central with an organ accompaniment that adds character and supports the choir.
