Augsburg Fortress

A warm and elegant setting of a beloved Timothy Dudley-Smith hymn text, set to the tune REPTON. Ferguson richly illustrates the text on the organ, while the assembly is invited to join the choir on some stanzas. Perfect for Advent and Christmas worship services as well as themes of incarnation and God’s enduring, faithful presence.  

Orchestral parts are available in place of the organ accompaniment, as orchestrated for the St. Olaf Christmas Festival. Instrumentation: 3 flutes, 2 clarinets, bass clarinet, 2 bassoons, 4 horns, strings.
