Augsburg Fortress

This cherished hymn is beautifully set with flowing ease for SATB choir and piano by Evelyn Larter. A minor key in the center stanza underscores the questions of death and darkness in the text.  The mood shifts to major again for an uplifting final stanza that concludes by gently re-asking, “How can I keep from singing?”
