Augsburg Fortress

The familiar hymn text by Horatius Bonar is set by Jan Kraybill to a Scottish melody with a creative organ accompaniment that evokes the sound of bagpipes. The choir also provides a bagpipe drone in the opening stanzas as the melody is sung by various parts. The anthem grows to a dynamic final stanza, which can be sung in unison or SATB voices. Particularly useful during the Time After Epiphany and Sundays with themes of living water.
