Augsburg Fortress

This time-honored German carol is newly arranged by Jantz Black for SATB choir and organ. The first two stanzas unfold in warm two-part harmony in D major before rising to F major and a rich four-part texture. A brief choral coda tenderly reinforces the uplifting words, “God…lightens every load.”
