Augsburg Fortress

This classic F. Melius Christiansen Christmas anthem has the gentle feel of a lullaby which is supported by a lush choral accompaniment. Written for SATB choir, it can also be sung as a solo with the choir humming the harmony. The text highlights the manger, Mary, and the shepherds, but also raises up the Christ-child as the “Lord of life and love.”
