Composer Commentary

Many church organists get called into action before they become comfortable playing the pedals. Drawing on my own experience as an organ teacher, I am always on the lookout for pieces that are interesting and useful but require minimal pedal, and I have written some pieces myself that share that quality. The first volume of this series received much attention and praise, even as a method book for organ lessons, which has led to the subsequent three volumes. As stated in the foreword of each volume, these pieces are not only "light on your feet" but playing them will help you become even more "light on your feet."
