The Minnesota Organ Book

Commissioned by the American Guild of Organists for the 2008 National Convention in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, this volume features six pieces for organ and solo instrument. Each by a different Minnesota composer, the works are for use in any concert setting or worship service. Recorded in Boe Chapel at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, an audio CD will be included with the book.

Contents: "Morning Light," Cary John Franklin, cello and organ; "The Dances of Our Lady," Monte Mason, soprano saxophone and organ; "HaCHaZaRaH: The Arousal of the Return," Janika Vandervelde, violin and organ; "Invocation and Remembrance," Linda Tutas Haugen,  trumpet and organ; "Praise," Carol Barnett,  steel pan and organ; "Psalm and Dance," David Evan Thomas, flute and organ.

This collection was broadcast on National Public Radio in 2008 for an episode of PipeDreams as hosted by Michael Barone. The program, entitled 'A Minnesota Organ Book' (#0818), was presented in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Minnesota Statehood, May 11, 1858.
